SCCEMS Receives a Grant from the Mushroom Festival

- Southern Chester County EMS was awarded a $2000 grant toward the purchase of a new paramedic responder vehicle from the Mushroom Festival. The Mushroom Festival organization has been a supporter of SCCEMS over the past several years using proceeds from the annual event in Kennett Square to benefit SCCEMS and many other organizations in the area. - The SCCEMS family has lost a great friend with the passing of James S. Herr, founder of Herr's Foods. Jim and the Herr family have been great supporters of Southern Chester County EMS and MEDIC 94 almost since the beginning of service in 1983. Bill Wohl Rejoins SCCEMS Board of Directors

- At the first SCCEMS Board of Directors meeting for 2012 on February 16th, the Board welcomed Bill Wohl Sr. back as a member representing the West Grove Fire Company. Bill replaces Carol Eichinger who retired and moved to Georgia. Bill had served previously on the Board for almost a decade before leaving in 2009. SCCEMS Receives OSFC Grant
FEBRUARY 01
- Southern Chester County Emergency Medical Services received official notification from the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner's Office that it is the recipient of a grant for $5,680 through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. SCCEMS Experiences Record Call Volume in 2011

- Southern Chester County Emergency Medical Services experienced record call volume in 2011 responding to a record 3,349 dispatches. This is the busiest year in the organizations history and 12% call volume increase over 2010.
