Board Recognizes Chairman Karl Mehn for 12 Years of Service AUGUST 19 - The Southern Chester County Emergency Medical Services Board of Directors recognized Board Chairman Karl Mehn at its August meeting. Due to his pending retirement to Florida, Karl resigned from his SCCEMS Board membership. Karl has been instrumental in his 12 years of service to the Board, 11 of which were as board chairman. Paramedic Supervisor Pierce Graduates from NETC Advanced EMS Leadership Course MAY 11 - Paramedic Supervisor John Pierce graduated on May 7th from the Advanced Leadership Issues in Emergency Medical Services Course presented at the National Emergency Training Center (NETC)/ National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. SCCEMS Receives Grant from 2009 Mushroom Festival APRIL 26 - SCCEMS has received a grant for $1500 toward the purchase of a new paramedic unit from the proceeds of the 2009 Mushroom Festival. The presentation of the check was made at the Annual Mushroom Festival Spring Gala held this past weekend at the Red Clay Room in Kennett Square. Paramedic Mike Gerisch Named Chester County EMS Council 2010 Paramedic of the Year APRIL 07 - SCCEMS Paramedic Mike Gerisch is this year's Chester County EMS Councils Paramedic of the Year. Mike becomes the 3rd SCCEMS paramedic in 6 years to receive this County honor. Paramedic Gerisch was recognized for this honor due to his clinical excellence, outstanding reputation from his peers.
