JANUARY 02
- Southern Chester County Emergency Medical Services experienced record call volume in 2011 responding to a record 3,349 dispatches. This is the busiest year in the organizations history and 12% call volume increase over 2010. - Receiving a Recording when Calling 9-1-1? – Do Not Hang Up Occasionally, usually during severe storms with wide-spread power outages, more 9-1-1 calls are made than can be answered. During these times, after a few rings the caller will receive a recorded message letting the caller know that they have dialed 9-1-1 and all telecommunicators are busy. SCCEMS Inks a Lease Extension
DECEMBER 12
- On December 9th, SCCEMS signed a 5 years lease extension for the garage and offices at the Jennersville Regional Hospital. These facilities were constructed in 1996 with the expansion of the emergency department largely with community funding. - Great job SCCEMS paramedic Matt Barnett and Union Fire Company of Oxford EMS crew paramedic Beth Leonardi, EMT Vietta Wood and EMT Kayley Arnold on their assisting with bringing a new baby into the world. SCCEMS Recieves New Lucas 2 Chest Compression Devices
SEPTEMBER 18
- SCCEMS was the first ALS service in Chester County to receive the Lucas 2 Chest Compression devices. The $15,000 devices purchase through federal grants by the Chester County Department of Emergency Services. Several years ago, SCCEMS asked the Chester County EMS Council to endorse the purchase of the devices for ALS services to the County. The County respected this request due to the effectiveness ... 100% Cardiac Arrest Resuscitation Rate in August
SEPTEMBER 06
- In August 2011, the SCCEMS staff had a 100% cardiac arrest resuscitation rate. There were 3 cardiac arrest patients cared for by SCCEMS paramedics during the month. All 3 were resuscitated in the field and discharged from the hospital with no neurlogical defects. SCCEMS Crews Have Two Cardiac Arrest Saves in One Week
AUGUST 25
- SCCEMS crews were part of the successful resuscitation of two cardiac arrest patients this past week. The first patient, a 48 year old male was found in cardiac arrest by the Avondale Ambulance crew and SCCEMS paramedic Kim"Gumby" Harvey.
