Paramedic Sergeant Tammy Whiteman Named 2017 Pennsylvania Advanced Life Support Provider of the Year

The Pennsylvania Department of Health and Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services
Council (PEHSC) held the annual state-wide EMS Awards on Thursday September 21st at the Lancaster Host
Resort. Tammy Whiteman, Paramedic Sergeant at Southern Chester County EMS-MEDIC 94, was named the
2017 Pennsylvania Advanced Life Support (ALS) Practitioner of the Year. Tammy has been involved in
EMS and patient care for over 10 years, joining SCCEMS-Medic 94 in 2015. She is an extremely skilled,
knowledgeable and compassionate EMS provider that takes great pride in the care she gives and the
organization she represents. Tammy is a consummate professional who goes the extra mile with all her
patients. She is also tireless in her efforts to provide outreach and injury prevention programs to the
community. Tammy has been instrumental in the development and community partnerships for SCCEMS to expand
its community outreach programs to include hands Only CPR, Fall Prevention-Matter of Balance, “Tammy is an exceptional
paramedic, innovative leaders and an example skills of patient care but also those of deep compassion and customer service.
Tammy is also a two-time winner of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) EMS Today Cook-Off challenge
