Happy 100th Birthday to Jennersville Hospital
April 19, 2018

Happy 100th Birthday to Jennersville Hospital/SCCMC/West Grove Hospital/Ewing Hospital.

A century ago, Dr. William Ewing, had the vision to start a hospital to address the communities needs during the 1918 Spanish Influenza outbreak. The hospital started as a simple 5-bed clinic at his boyhood home on Evergreen Street in West Grove eventually opening the hospital at the corner of Prospect and Railroad Avenues in April 1918 as the Ewing Hospital.

In 1959, the hospital moved to its current location in Jennerville as the West Grove Hospital. Later, it was renamed the Southern Chester County Medical Center. In 2001, it became the Jennersville Regional Hospital and in 2017, the Jennersville Hospital as part of Tower Health.

Southern Chester County EMS was founded in partnership with the Southern Chester County Medical Center in 1983.

Thank you for 100 years of caring and service to the community.
